ABOUT ZAC
Craftsmanship, experience and design thinking
My approach to bathroom design has developed through more than two decades of practical experience within the building industry. After moving from an operational management role within the logistics industry into a more practical career, I established my own business, which subsequently evolved into Zachary Loftus Bathrooms Ltd.
My experience encompasses plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, brickwork and general construction. This multidisciplinary background has given me an understanding of how individual elements interact within a space, allowing me to consider a bathroom as a complete design rather than simply a collection of separate trades.
Design has always been fundamental to the way I think and work. More recently, studying for a Bachelor of Design (Honours) has enabled me to develop this instinctive approach through the principles of design thinking. This has introduced a more structured process of identifying problems, exploring possibilities, evaluating ideas and developing considered solutions.
I believe successful bathroom design should balance function, craftsmanship and aesthetics while responding to the individual needs of each client.
